Today we're walking around East Kyoto checking out some less popular sites! We walk through the beautiful streets and Gion and stop in at the Ryozan Kannon temple, which has a giant buddhist statue of Kannon. We then walk through Higashiyama to Maruyama Park, seeing the great cherry blossom tree and walk through Yasaka Shrine which was super busy for Hatsumode (New Year's Celebrations!). We get some vegetarian / vegan food at Mumokuteki (our favourite veggie place in Kyoto) and then walk round the beautiful gardens of Shouren-in. We pop in to see the huge buildings on Chion-in and finish up with a stop in at Yasaka to get my Goshu-in book signed. Thanks for watching!!!
