Total distance driven 8082 klm, total charging costs $1011.98, but if I had used the Tesla app to initiate the first two charge events instead of the Ford Plug and Charge feature, I would have saved around $30.00. The truck is amazing on the highway! The charging infrastructure definitely needs standardized operation! There are too many different systems, each often requiring an app on your phone, an account linked to a credit card, etc. You should be able to plug in and swipe a debit or credit card and go. Some do, but not many. On three occasions, the nav system sent me to chargers that were out of order or, in one case, no longer there. The plugshare app noted they were problematic, but you can't read comments on the phone while driving. A copilot would have obviously helped. A fuel efficient SUV would have been cheaper for sure, but compared to a gas powered full size truck, I'd say the cost would be about the same. I did spend 5 days in Brampton driving every day and charging for free at the hotel at night...
