As a tribute to the late Levi Stubbs, I would like to share a record by the Four Tops that they released back in 1960, a few years before coming to Motown. "Lonely Summer" was the only record released by the Four Tops on Columbia records. It was backed with a song penned by levi Stubbs titled "Ain't That Love". While it may not be memorable as their later works at Motown, "Lonely Summer" displays the groups' harmonies, which were polished even more at Motown.The record was originally released as Columbia 41755 and reissued in 1965 as Columbia 43356(which this copy is).
