This is the earliest known footage of Jo Ann Castle playing her trademark honky tonk piano on TV. Before she appeared on the Lawrence Welk show Jo Ann appeared on many local and national variety shows, including the Ina Hutton Show, Spade Cooley Show, and this appearance, from c. April-August of 1957 on the Spike Jones Show. She’s featured very briefly playing the 20’s jazz standard of “Five Foot Two”. Enjoy this brief (but rare) clip!
