This is a beginner's indoor flying model of the V-22 Osprey. It includes an FPV camera for viewing the flight on your phone. Find it here bit.ly/Eachine-E19
Pros
- Good looking flying model of the V-22 Osprey.
- Lightweight at only 71 grams. It does not require registration in most countries (except those countries that require camera drones to be registered).
- "Anti Stuck" motor protection automatically stops the motors in a crash to protect them from damage.
- 3.7V 600mah battery provides up to 7 minutes of flight time. I got 4 to 5 minutes with maneuvering flights.
- Flight features includes altitude hold, headless mode, flips, and one key takeoff and landing.
- 720p FPV camera transmits real time in flight video to your phone using the "KY FPV" app. App is available on Google Play here bit.ly/KY-FPV , and on the Apple App Store here bit.ly/KY_FPV
- FPV video is transmitted to your phone using common 2.4Ghz WiFi. This version of WiFi work with nearly all phones.
Cons
- Although a model of the V-22, it is not a true tiltrotor. Instead it is a quadcopter drone in the shape of the Osprey.
- It uses brushed motors, which will eventually require replacement. You can improve motor longevity if you limit doing flips, and allow the motors to cool down at least 15 minutes between consecutive flights.
- The drone's high rate control increases yaw rate only, and does not increase pitch. As such, this drone has problems flying in any wind, and should be flown mainly indoors.
- The drone dips in altitude if you try to do banking turns. To mitigate this, it is best to do slow yaw turns.
- It has a relatively short flight time of around 4 to 5 minutes. Replacement batteries can be purchased separately to keep your Osprey in the air. But remember to allow cool down periods between flights.
