Pros
- Weighs only 249 grams with battery. This drone does not require registration in most countries.
- Folding drone for portability. Also comes with an included carrying case for the drone, batteries, and other accessories.
- Brushless motors for improved durability (as compared to brushed motors).
- GPS with automatic hovering, and automatic return to home and landing on command, loss of signal, and low voltage.
- Optical flow sensor for stable hover indoors.
- Onboard camera records 1080p video to your phone at 25 fps. Still photos are recorded at up to 6144 x 3456 pixel interpolated (electronically enlarged) resolution. Camera lens can be remotely tilted up or down remotely with the controller.
- 7.4V 2200mah provides provides up to 30 minutes of flight time (I got 26 minutes 23 seconds).
- Controller range of up to 1200 meters. Controller's LCD screen includes telemetry information of signal strength, GPS status, drone/controller battery power, drone height, and drone distance.
- Real time FPV video is available through your phone using the "HF GPS" app available on Google Play here bit.ly/HF-GPSapp or the app store here bit.ly/HF-GPS. App also provides advanced capabilities of follow me, orbit position, waypoints, and headless mode.
Cons
- The app requires use of a phone with 802.11ac WiFi. Before purchasing, use Google to verify that your phone does indeed have 802.11ac WiFi (not everybody has such on their phone).
- No SD card recording capability. Instead video and photos are recorded directly to your phone over the drone's WiFi signal (with inherent WiFi video lag and frame dropping).
- I encountered toilet bowl effect several times in the flight (even with the compass calibration). I could not turn off the GPS with the controller to mitigate. Instead I was able to momentarily correct by yaw turning the drone.
- The HF GPS app was somewhat buggy. It crashed three time during the flight. Additionally ,the advanced flight features of follow me, orbit position, and waypoints did not seem to work when flown with the controller.
