This course connects our treatment with curriculum-related goals that the child is learning in the classroom. This session covers from early science vocabulary (kindergarten) through adolescents. Learn evidence-based intervention strategies for teaching vocabulary for life science, changes in matter, and earth science. In addition, vocabulary for energy and physical science will be explored. Learn how to teach common inquiry-based science verbs such as observe, measure and predict. Strategies for using content word strings, reading informational text, and creating graphic and visual organizers will be reviewed and discussed. Finally, common science prefixes, suffixes, and root words will be identified and discussed. Numerous digital handouts will be provided for the following areas: space vocabulary, common science experiment vocabulary, earth vocabulary, changes in matter vocabulary, common science prefixes, common science suffixes, common biology roots and more!!
