This course provides a comprehensive overview of the key areas needed to effectively help your older students master and generalize their communication goals. Section One highlights several aspects of cognitive and linguistic development in older students, which will help inform your treatment planning process. Section Two discusses all aspects of intervention including relationship-building, goal-writing, specific therapy approaches and generalization. Section Three provides specific tools and suggestions for educating and involving families and caregivers, so that they can effectively support the older children they care for.
