Starting at this level, here’s when things get a little tougher. The first officers you’ll encounter at the start of the level while playing Zhou Yu aren’t willing to be pushovers. As soon as you get rid of Cao Pi, he, his forces, and his mistress shall bail. By the time you get done tying up loose ends in that area, it’s likely Taishi Ci will be wiped out, so it’s not really possible to save him from Zhang Liao’s ambush.
