Using a fan translation of the Japanese version. The Western version of this game has a bunch of gameplay changes that make it significantly more difficult for whatever reason, while also stripping out the dialogue and some of the character of the game. There are also slight visual differences.
Each level has secret bonus points that are rewarded for doing specific things but these are only for scoring purposes. The real secret involves collecting the 4 randomized numbers during the (horrible and game ruining) bonus intermission sections as these will allow you to enter a code after the credits for an extra scene and the true ending of the game. Useless fact: These numbers are rolled when the bonus section ends and not based on a seed rolled when you start a new game.
As there are already videos showing all of the secret bonuses, I opt for a non-completionist run of the game. If you want completion, search for it and don’t bother complaining at me, please. I really don’t see any point making a video that already exists.
Your hitbox is gigantic during the shoot ‘em up section and the controls are pretty sensitive, so avoiding the damage is fairly difficult.
