Developed in high school, I always felt Dynamite Alex was my first "real" game. Missileman games and the like were always fun to make, but they were always just products of a kid playing with his toy, and couldn't be anything I'd present in an environment beyond that. With the help of gamedev friend Zachary Wiebe (who provided the platforming framework I used for the game), I was able to envision something that was full-fledged, had reasonable production value, and was entirely devoid from relying on existing copyrighted material.
Dynamite Alex was also originally meant to replace Missileman as my new signature series. There are many stories I have in the vault that is my headspace about the kinds of adventures Alex could have gone on since her debut. However, these were put aside when I decided to make newer IP and experiment with the idea of rebooting Missileman, which resulted in Missileman Origins.
Dynamite Alex would also go on to be the first game I've ever sold. As such, it has the most sales on Steam than any of my other titles I've released since. It's not often I can say I have a game that has more units out there than Concord.
If you have yet to own it on Steam, you can buy it here for just a buck:
