Dwight Douglas, who came to Muskoka in the summer of 2008 as a migrant worker at the Red Leaves Marriott resort, attended the First Muskoka Congregational Church for the year and a half that he was at Red Leaves. He returned to that church on Sunday, June 29th, 2014, as the guest preacher. He was there, accompanied by his family, to share an incredible success story. He is now part owner of a franchise restaurant in Pickering after rising from a lonely job as the only server in a restaurant on Weston Road. After bringing his family to Toronto at the end of 2010 he was told over and over that they would never get landed immigrant status. They are now about to receive that. Dwight was telling his story in public for the first time, and he credits part of his success upon the prayers of the little Muskoka church.
