So, I walk into the Tuuvi Cafe before going to work at KGHR and I meet Dustin Perkins. He's having his first taste of frybread, ever. We have lunch together and he share's the story of how he ended up in Tuba City. You can learn all about his "Bag of Bones" tour on his website dustinperkinsmusic.com - Dustin is promoting his 3rd CD by working his way across country with no schedule, just exploring new cities, meeting people, finding venues that will have him and working for tips, he's really, really good and a genuinely nice guy.
Dustin joined me for an interview in the KGHR studios. He treated our listeners to live, acoustic versions of 3 songs from his newest CD "Words" and even a "world premier" of a song never played on the radio before. We rounded out the hour with a few more songs from the CD and learned a little more about Dustin and his music.
We hope to get the entire interview posted online at our website, but...for now...enjoy one of my favorite songs he played for KGHR. "Run and Hide."
