Dusky moorhens at Tempe Wetlands. Tempe wetlands used to be a shale quarry in the 1920s, a greyhound racing track in the 1940s, and then a rubbish tip until the 1970s. In 2004 Marrickville Council converted the area into parklands and wetlands.
