Initial setup and testing of a DuroMax XP5500EH electric start dual fuel generator.
This generator has a 7.5 HP Honda clone engine, and can be fueled by either gasoline or propane.
The prescribed starting procedures for running on propane call for the choke to be fully open, however I was only able to get it to start with the choke half closed. I need to look into if there is a fuel mixture adjustment for the propane or what may be causing this.
Other than that, it seems to run well. Only time will tell how long it will last, though. This generator was purchased as an emergency backup, so who knows when I'll have the chance to run it long enough.
