It's possible to duplicate Magic Bottles in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's really easy, too! But this particular method requires you to permanently lose another item from your inventory.
Equip a bottle to Left C (or any C button, but let's go with Left C in this example). Walk up to a Fairy (or anything else you can catch in a bottle). Press Left C then IMMEDIATELY hit Start. Now swap the Bottle on your Left C button with some other item like the Lens of Truth. Then unpause.
The bottle catching animation will play out and you will catch the Fairy. However, the Lens of Truth mapped to your Left C button will now be turned into a bottle. This change is PERMANENT so don't save your game after!
