Bobby Shafto | Ducted Sunset Revisited @bobshafto | Uploaded May 2021 | Updated October 2024, 12 hours ago.
Previously, on my video of a sunset viewed through an atmospheric duct, a viewer asked a good question: "So where is the sun in this footage really?"
Obtaining timing and the sun's azimuth and elevation information using Stellarium, and getting location and bearing data from Google Earth, this is what I came up with.
Footage was shot with a Canon Powershot SX50 HS from Black Mountain Open Space Park in San Diego County, from an elevation of 800 feet above Mean Sea Level (MSL), about 10 miles inland from the coast.
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro.
