LANSING, Ill. — A mama duck refused to leave a parking lot on 173rd Street on Tuesday, May 12. Hours later, a woman returned to the area and realized why when she heard chirping coming from beneath a sewer grate.
Five ducklings had fallen into the storm drain outside Gordon Food Service at 2330 W. 173rd St. in Lansing, prompting a rescue effort involving animal control, the fire department, and public works crews.
