“You think that’s a safe way of driving with him?”
Our officer pulled over a mother after they saw her driving 120 miles per hour on I-10. When he caught up to her, he saw her three-year-old in the backseat. And that was just the start of her problems.
Our officer enlisted the help of D.U.I. Officer Ernesto Valerio after he smelled marijuana in the car. Officer Valerio did a full investigation, determining the woman was driving under the influence. When he searched her car, he found a lit marijuana joint and multiple empty bottles of alcohol.
To make matters worse, the mother was driving that fast to get to her 10-year-old, who she left home alone.
Officer Valerio arrested her for D.U.I. and violating Florida’s Super Speeder law, making it a crime to go more than 100 miles per hour. Her actions could have led to a tragedy.
