Playing a druid for the first time can be a little confusing. Be it in with the current 5th edition rules, in games like Baldur's Gate 3 or maybe even with the updated 2024 OneDnD rules. All those spells, all those abilities and, of course - Wild Shape. But what are the best beast forms you should choose?

Rather than trying to remember dozens of different stat blocks for all the beasts in the Monster Manual (especially if you are new to the game of Dungeons & Dragons or this is your first time playing a Druid) it might be worth trying to keep things simple. And just aiming to have 3-5 "go to" shapes that can be useful in a whole host of situations. These can obviously be swapped out as you get deeper into the game and level up but it might be handy to have some forms you can always rely on. And here are my picks
