This is your first look driving through a section of the West Gate Tunnel. This vision shows the service tunnel which sits directly below the main tunnel. The service tunnel will allow maintenance crews to have direct access to carry out tunnel service works.

This is the first Australian tunnel to be constructed with an elevated road surface, which allows another tunnel underneath to serve for maintenance services.

Tunnelling update:
Over 70% complete, more than 4.5 kilometres of road deck has been laid inside the West Gate Tunnel.
