On 10 March 2021, Ellen Stickle was on her way home with her then-partner when they were hit by a speeding car, travelling at over 100mph.
The impact of the collision forced their car through the crash barrier and down the embankment of the A90. Ellen received catastrophic injuries and was fighting for her life.
Blood tests later found the speeding driver had consumed a variety of prescription drugs.
