No one reads these. I'm not forcing anyone to think any certain way about this game and I'm not trying to clear up "misconceptions" as I don't think misconceptions exist in Silent Hill, at least not in the way most fans seem to think, just different interpretations. Anyway, here's my interpretation of one of my all time favorite video games.

I recently came across this comment from @LosMSR on a different video and I'd like to share it (if they wouldn't mind) because it's one of the most interesting takes on Amnion I've seen and surprisingly & coincidentally seems to tie into my theory:

"The boss is really interesting, bc this monster is another proof of the abuse at Shepherd's house. The father isn't around here, the monster is Lillian and Josh, both were abused by Adam. Lillian had absent of voice in her house, she knew the abuse to Josh, but she can't do anything. In some way Alex created this monster, bc he can't protect his mother and his brother. Once he discovered the abuse, this was too late.
The spider is a predator, but in this case, both were upscale by Adam, the boogeyman. Uttu the sumerian goddess took the shape of spider as a way to escape the abuse of her father Enki. Some myths also said that spiders has the ability to create their own worlds. Dreamcatchers are a symbol of a spider web.
Adam is also tied in a sort of web hanging, another symbol that the spider got the revanche. The Shining is a big reference of the game, that's explained the name of the prison, Overlook, like the hotel of the movie and the novel. This is also another proof of the abuse plot in the game-
Another reference to this, happened in the church, if Alex didn't forgive his father, the goal The choice of Angela appears."
