Someone told me something that helped kill the Genderuwo SIGNIFICANTLY faster!!!!
So now, this Act has been completed in under 9 minutes!
Turns out you can flash the Genderuwo as he does the slam-down move, but only in phase 2, when he's teleporting. If you do it in phase 1, then he just gets up faster, which actually hurts your run a lot more.
Along with the OoB recently discovered, the time has dropped to 8;50. It can probably get lowered more, and be closer to around 8;30 or so, but I'm fine with this being left off here (as of right now).

I knew I could somehow improve the route to beat the wr from AR34. After a little bit of theory crafting, I was able to make 2 changes and beat the wr by over 30 seconds. I think this category has reached its limits unless

I decided to fix up my Act 4 time, since my IL is a minute behind the full game WR.
A majority of my time loss came from the ending boss fight. So I later realized I needed to do some weird tech to do a lot of damage to skip the flying phase (which loses you ~40 seconds).
Altogether, I performed the entire fight pretty poorly, but other than this, I was ~10 seconds slower than WR because I keep playing on 120fps, even though 60fps is faster (for entering doors). But because of poor boss fight execution, this is still ~30 seconds slower than WR did.
Overall, I think Im satisfied with how this run turned out.

Im quite satisfied with this run. Failed the Lost Shrimp skip once, which costed me ~20 seconds. Got a stupid death in the area before the Ame fight, which costed ~30 seconds. And during the final phase, I was fine with dying once, since my HP was low, but really disappointed with the 2nd death, which costed ~50 seconds.
Without pointing out a bunch of smaller details, I lost around 2 minutes there....
On day 1, I suspected that sub 20 was impossible, but were getting close to seeing it become realistic. Taking my time of 25;40, and subtracting 2 minutes, were at 23;40.
Only time will tell if/when it is able to be done.

For those who may not know what a TAS is, T.A.S. (Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay) is the process of doing a speedrun, while using tools to manipulate many factors of a game, in order to create a theoretical perfect speedrun.
The term tools can often refer to many aspects, such as using mods that manipulate luck factors, speed, savestates, or fully custom tools that give you internal information.
More specifically to this video, this run uses an auto player mod made by the NSO modder, Frostworth.
This auto player basically runs off of code that attempts to do every action as soon as it is capable of doing so, making for the most optimal time for everything.

Nearly a year ago, someone beat my Rainbow Girl WR by literally 1 frame.
While attempting to get my WR back, I ended up getting SMT, and beat my previous SMT WR by ~18 seconds.

Im trying to move away from NSO, so Im trying to get back into DreadOut 2 speedrunning. I hope this game seems fun, because I plan to upload a lot more if I can.
I was able to beat my previous time by ~22 seconds lol.

Literally nobody has done this category.
Okay, thats technically a lie, but nobody has ever done an optimized run of this category.
Theres only 4 runs of this category.
The first run was in March 2022, with a time of 15;48. 4 days later, someone beat it with a 15;46.
Later that year, in November, someone got a 21;17. Leaving the WR as still being the 15;46.
Then, almost a year ago, in July 2025, someone got a 14;52.
To put all of this into context: At the time, Happy End World took just barely over 10 minutes. The only different between DYLM and HEW is just raising you Mental Darkness and doing Internet Angel 5. These 2 endings also have similar end cutscene lengths.
So with all of this information, this category has never been truly optimized with high level play in mind, and I beat the previous WR by over 4 minutes.

For those who dont know, the NSO modder Mints has made a mod called Alternative Ascension. As of the making of this video, the mod is in version 1.0.2. It has 3 new endings, and (potentially) more on the way.

And for those curious, this run is technically cheated, by the speedrun.com rules (although there isnt a category for it anyways), since I loaded a different data file. The reason for this is because I needed a way to skip Darkness 1, and enter Darkness 2 early to save more time, but theres no day 1 save file available to load. So I got creative and opened a separate save file to do the glitch lol.
