Dragonball Sparking Zero - Fusions

In the Dragon Ball universe, fusion is the technique where two or more people join together into one body. There are five types of fusion: Metamoru (dance), Potara (earrings).


Potara
According to Akira Toriyama, this fusion is not stronger than the metamoru fusion, but it is more efficient because it lasts longer and occurs with the use of the Potara earrings. These earrings have the ability to unite two beings. The union, if performed between Kaioshins, is permanent, but there are ways to undo this fusion. One of the ways is to ask a dragon god, a method used by the Eastern Kaioshin to separate from Kibito in Dragon Ball Super. If the fusion is performed between two non-Kaioshin beings, there is a time limit of one hour, as revealed by Gowasu, the Kaioshin of the tenth universe.

To perform the fusion, both people simply need to put on the earrings. One person puts them on the left ear and the other on the right ear, for the fusion to occur. The earrings are manufactured on the Kaioshins' planet.

Metamoru

This type of fusion consists of two people involved in a dance, who are mirror images of each other, resulting in a new warrior, who has the powers of both[6]. Goku taught this technique to Goten and Trunks and said that he learned this technique from aliens when he was training in the Other World. When successfully performed, the new warrior is extremely strong. To obtain an extremely strong fusion, one must unite warriors who are also strong, as in the case of Goku and Vegeta.
