Today I'm going to be talking about the grey wardens an organisation of elite and feared warriors with the task of destroying the darkspawn and defending Thedas from the blights.
So all grey wardens posses the right of conscription, which allows them to take anyone from prince to peasant into the ranks of the grey wardens, now then to become a grey warden one must undergo a ritual know as the joining, in which a person has to drink darkspawn blood with lyrium and a drop of an archdemons blood. Only a handful survive the joining as darkspawn blood is literally a poison, and those who survive the taint only have approximately 30 years left to life.
The calling is when grey wardens with only a little time to live voyage into the deep roads of Orzammar and fight as many darkspawn as possible before their body is destroyed by the taint.
