Dr. Mautra Staley Jones is an extraordinary woman and an outstanding Oklahoman. Recently, she was unanimously approved and appointed as the 11th president of Oklahoma City Community College. She is the first woman and the first woman of color to hold this position. Dr. Jones received a Doctorate of Education from Vanderbilt University. Before accepting the president position, Dr. Jones served as the vice president for institutional advancement and external affairs at Langston University. She has been appointed to the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs board by Governors Mary Fallin and Kevin Stitt, and she holds positions on several additional boards for city and state entities.
She has received several awards, including the Achiever Under 40, Women of the Year at the 2018 Women of Color Expo, and was selected Oklahoma Mother of the Year in 2021. Dr. Jones is married to United States District Judge Bernard M. Jones II and is the mother of three children, Bernard III, Kennedy, and Brendan.
