Active Towns | Dr. Matthew Schaeffer, MD, on crash prevention (getting to the root cause) @ActiveTowns | Uploaded November 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
In this episode, I connect with Dr. Matt Schaeffer, MD, general surgery resident at Wright State University Premiere Health in Dayton, OH, for a discussion about the nuance of bike lane design, encouraging more people to ride for optimal health and crash prevention all from a medical perspective.

To better understand perceptions associated with bike riding in Dayton, Dr. Schaeffer conducted a survey looking at the challenges and barriers to riding as well as what types of bike facilities, like protected bike lanes or separated pathways, would encourage more people to ride more often.
