There's this upcoming new game called 1666 Amsterdam which was headed up by one of the creators of Assassin's Creed, but this person saw AI-generated images in the game with zero disclaimers on Steam and feel very disappointed about it. The developers admitted to this whole thing and take accountability, which is a way better response than what this person proposed.

Whoa. Okay. Let's stop right there. Doubling down for AI usage is the absolute worst way to damage control the AI backlash. If you want a massive PR disaster, then sure. Double down all you like, but for the rest of you, don't do that.

Are they? No, seriously. Are they? And if so, how are they using them? How are they utilizing AI to optimize their work and make them better? You can't just say, "Well, the rich uses it." They also buy a new iPhone every year. That's not something an average person should do. Since you're sucking on AI so much, here's what AI reveals about the Fortune 500 that uses AI, and it's not exactly comparable, isn't it?

That's still not a good enough reason to double down. That is the absolute worst way to handle the PR disaster caused by using AI-generated assets. The best way to handle that is to actually apologize, address the concerns directly, and also have a really good product that people love so much that they're willing to brush off a couple of AI usages. Baldur's Gate 3, Expedition 33, The Alters, The Finals, I've seen people on my own chat still loving Neverness to Everness despite the company blatantly using AI assets.

Instead, have a product that is beloved enough that people are willing to tolerate the AI usage. Most people only care for the final product in the end, and if people think that the final product is garbage, then they're going to use the fact that you use AI against you.
