Double Dash Still Does Things Better Than Mario Kart 8
While Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is probably the king of the franchise today, Double Dash is right there in the conversation for second place—and for some fans, it might even be number one.
What made Double Dash so special was the two-driver mechanic. Having one character drive while the other handled items completely changed the strategy and gave every team its own personality. The ability to switch riders on the fly added a layer of depth that no other Mario Kart game has ever replicated.
It’s one of the boldest ideas Nintendo has ever introduced to the series, and honestly, we’re surprised they never brought it back.
We also discuss Mario Kart World, how much potential it has, and why it may eventually challenge the best games in the franchise—but it’s probably going to need a few years of updates and DLC before it gets there.
