Revelations | Part 6: Revisiting Purgatory & Hell's Core
We've beaten the game but we are NOT done yet.
In the last video, we obtained the final piece of the Master Key. Now that we have it, we're getting ourselves to work. What for? The Endgame Content. Yeah. That's right. To fully complete Revelations, you need to go back to every area in this DLC, Purgatory included, and seek out new stuff. In this case, new currency in the form of Blood Iron. They're needed in order to obtain the final upgrades for the Chain Spear.
But in addition you need to seek out a few more things. The first being Praetor Essences. You get those by completing Praetor Fights which are essentially challenge modes. Beating them also nets you a piece of the Astral Boss Key. There are also Blood Relics and finding them will net you Blood Iron. Then comes the Classic Encounters. These are fun as you play through classic DOOM levels to get pieces of a nostalgic weapon, the '93 Shotgun. Last but not least is the Ritual of Power. Essentially it's Time Attack as you need to complete missions in the fastest time possible. Getting a Gold Rating will net you an Astral Boss Key piece. There are 8 in all and you need to get them all to access the Astral Boss Key door.
In this case, we're revisiting Purgatory to access Endgame content and find what we can. Not only that but we return to Hell's Core to access Endgame areas and complete the challenges I already specified. This is necessary in order for us to unlock the true final boss.
Part 7 is a revisit the Chasm of Xal'Goroth.
