Revelations | Finale: Battle Xal'Goroth the Imprisoned
We've cleared out everything. We maxed out our abilities, including the Chain Spear. We got our hands on the Astral Boss Key and the '93 Shotgun. So what now? Simple. We got one last loose end to tie up.
Simply put, we have to deal with the true final boss, an Uber boss actually. It's known as Xal'Goroth, the Imprisoned.
In terms of it's lore, when the Cosmic Realm was born, Xal'Goroth was slowly awakening. Energy and matter would coalesce into form, deep within the abyss. As it stirred, reality trembled. Almost as if existence itself would recoil from the shape that it was never meant to be. It's immense power radiated through the silence. Palpable and yet impossible to understand. Xal'Goroth knew nothing but to consume.
Eventually it would be free from any master or purpose. It was a vessel born to reset creation but only when fate ran its course. Fearing something that they couldn't control, the ancient Wraiths would deceive it, entraping it within the depths of the void, to be lost to ancient memory, forever lingering beneath the realms of existence. Should it ever fully awaken, Xal'Goroth will collapse all universes with the “cold finality of a mathematical equation transforming existence into forms beyond comprehension”. Basically, if it ever awakens, everything would be lost.
So now we got to take it down. Xal'Goroth is a very challenging boss. You will need to use anything and everything you have in your arsenal to take it down. Take it from me, it wasn't pretty. It just wasn't. Use all your weapons and don't worry. There will be opportunities for you to regain health and ammo. Bring the pain to make sure this thing would not threaten all of creation. It's a tough fight but if you've played this game, as long as you know when to mix up your options, you'll manage. I did, despite some issues.
And once you defeat Xal'Goroth, that's pretty much it. Which means we're done with not only Doom: The Dark Ages but also it's DLC, Revelations. I had a lot of fun playing this trilogy and I like to thank ImAGiraffe420 for requesting me to cover this game and the entirety of the Doom trilogy. Will I get another request from him? Who knows.
