This is me playing Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil on Veteran Difficulty. I am using Sikkmod ROE 1.1, Monoxead's HR Textures and Wulfen Texture Pack. PLAYLIST: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1E29D1863C4084BF
Special Note: I am using the Sikkmod 1.1 in the first video (part 1) but have altered it slightly for 'part 2' and later. I downloaded this alternate version of it: megaupload.com/?d=6Z12M05D or check forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4070446&postcount=272
BUT! I ONLY used pak_modfiles.pk4 from the alternate version and deleted the rest. This is the only file I replaced of the original 1.1 version.
This is because I didn't like the gameplay changes by Sikkmod 1.1. It makes the enemies too strong. For example, you can see me taking nearly 3 point blank shotgun shots to kill just one Imp in the first video... and also, the Helltime Hunter takes forever to kill. It didn't make the fight any more challenging since it's as easy as ever... it only made it last 5 minutes longer due to giving the hunter stupid amounts of HP.
Also, I didn't like the HUD that comes with the original mod version. The alternate version's 'pak_modfiles.pk4' gets rid of all those changes and restores vanilla gameplay.
So to put it simply - in order to reproduce what you see on my screen:
-Install Sikkmod ROE 1.1 - moddb.com/mods/sikkmod/downloads/sikkmod-v11-roe
-Install Monoxead's HR Textures - doom3world.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23332
-Install Wulfen Texture Mod - moddb.com/mods/wulfen-texture-pack/addons/wulfen-texture-pack-10
-Then download megaupload.com/?d=6Z12M05D and ONLY extract the 'pak_modfiles.pk4' and use it to replace the one in your 'sikkmodd3xp' folder.
To install sikkmod, just read the readme.
(Note that if you're using the Steam versions of the game, when it tells you to edit the shortcut, then you have to go to your steam games library, right click Doom 3 ROE, choose 'Set Launch Options' and write "+set fs_game_base d3xp +set fs_game sikkmodd3xp" without the quotation marks.
In order to install texture mods, extract the files and place the folders such as 'materials', 'textures', etc... into your /base/ folder in your Doom 3 directory. Alternatively, you can place them in the 'sikkmodd3xp' directory and/or your 'sikkmod' directory (depending if you also want them for the original Doom 3).
Also, if you have an ATI card, it's best to install RadeonPro in order to disable Catalyst AI: radeonpro.info/en-US
Follow these instructions: modetwo.net/darkmod/index.php?/topic/12398-disabling-catalyst-ai
(If you cant open xml files: make a txt file on your desktop and rename it to whatever.xml - say yes to changing extensions - and right click it, choose 'open with', select 'choose default program', and select notepad. Now follow the instructions in the link again.)
My settings are pretty simple, these are the only settings I changed:
Bloom Settings: Bloom ON, Intensity 0.6
Colour Settings: Colour Grading ON
HDR Settings: HDR ON, Dither ON, Glare Style: Vertical (Spectral), Glare Intensity 0.3
Game: Ambient Light ON, Blood Spray ON
Everything else at default.
Also, I have set:
r_gamma 1.1
r_brightness 1.1
r_mode -1
r_customwidth 1280
r_customheight 720
r_aspect ratio 1
(aspect ratios are 0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = 16:10)
I normally play with 1920x1200 with aspect ratio 2 (16:10) but have set it smaller to record in 720p.
Enter these in the console (press the button left of 1 to access the console aka the 'tilde' key, or press ctrl+shift+` to access it, then type com_allowconsole 1 to enable the tilde key)
Please don't PM me for modding help, everything I know is from googling around... so I'm kindly sharing it here to help others. If this doesn't help, then I probably don't know what's wrong.
Video was recorded with Fraps and compressed in VirtualDubMod with the 'x264 vfw codec'. Motion Blur was added in post-processing with AViSynth and MVTools.

![Metro 2033 - Ranger Hardcore Walkthrough Part 7 - Frontline + Trolley Combat
The easiest method would be to sneak by without killing anyone. Theres a chance that your throwing knife may bounce off the enemys armour, which immediately alerts everyone to your presence (I died a few times at the second half due to this). Try to aim for their sides which are more exposed... also, hitting their backpacks if they are wearing one (which are thicker than you blades are long) will strangely have a near 100% success rate in killing them.
I chose to kill a lot of guards simply to scrooge up some more ammo supplies.
The trolley fight is pretty much still the same as on any other difficulty... shoot anything that moves.
This is played on Ranger Hardcore difficulty. PLAYLIST: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEC59D2EC40935453
I edited the user.cfg with notepad in order to increase the FOV.
To do this you must edit the SICK_FOV value in the THREE user.cfg files located here:
C:Users[your username]AppDataLocal4A GamesMetro 2033
C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommonmetro 2033
C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata[random set of numbers]43110remote
Important: You need to keep the fullstop. I set it to SICK_FOV 65. Remember that Metro uses vertical FOV measurement rather than the common horizontal measure. A vertical FOV of 65 is a horizontal FOV of 90 on a 16:10 1920x1200 resolution. Setting it any higher might make some errors appear like seeing the end of your arms during reload animations or cutscene animations. You can try to see what you like best.
I just think the default FOV is ridiculous... and unfortunately, this is becoming way to common an issue for console ports nowadays. Metro 2033 - Ranger Hardcore Walkthrough Part 7 - Frontline + Trolley Combat](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pJRK7oUjeg8/mqdefault.jpg)

![Metro 2033 - Ranger Hardcore Walkthrough Part 10 - Polis + Alley + Library + Depository + Archives
Polis is the last opportunity to spend your hard-scrounged military grade bullets on ammo or other things. I go for the armour since I have plenty of reserve ammo and sneaking wont be needed from this point onwards.
Unfortunately, it seems you cant buy air filters... though it certainly is possible to still do this if you keep up the pace. There are quite a few corpses with filters and masks around the library and further inside it.
If you find that youve got no ammo left and have several librarians in your way, then you can just stare them down... quite literally. If you dont break line of sight with them (I find having the flashlight on helps this), they will back off for a while. I like to try this out a few times before still blasting them with the auto shotgun.
