I won’t be playing map31, I tried it once and it just wasn’t my cup of tea at all. Maybe I’ll upload an unfinished video if people want me to.

Serious Review:
I have pretty mixed feelings about this map. I liked the arena at 11.47, I liked the arena at 25.10, I liked the portion at 14.59, and of course, I liked the giant slaughter arena. That part was awesome. The rest of the map was either okay or unfun for me. Ammo, once again, is scarce, which I’m not a fan of. I didn’t realize until watching the video back that I had missed a berserk because I didn’t know there was a lift up to the baron ledge at the beginning.
The final fight I think was too hard for me to have fun in. Maybe I would enjoy it more on HMP, who knows. By far my least favorite part about this map, and my least favorite part of the whole wad is at 19.08. It was downright awful in my opinion and no fun at all. I always hate it when monsters teleport around randomly like that. That shit should have died in the early 2000s. Top it off with the scarce ammo and you have the ingredients for an Arbys550 torture chamber. I think you’re supposed to release the revs with the cybers, but I didn’t know that. Stuff like this has happened before in the wad, particularly in the red key fight in map06, but at least there I had enough shells to finish off the 2 cybers. Here, I wasn’t so lucky. How the hell is the player supposed to know to activate the second waves early? That fight alone docks 2 whole points off of my rating.
A viewer informed me that there was an almost mandatory secret somewhere, but I don’t know what they were talking about. Was it the invuln on the ledge in the big arena? I thought it was pretty fun without it.

Stardate 20x6 Final Thoughts:
Ribbiks is an insanely talented mapper, no doubt. Visually and thematically, the wad is very impressive. As far as gameplay goes, for me it was hit or miss. I know I’ve discussed this with some of my viewers, but I just think my playstyle doesn’t jive well with Ribbiks maps, and that’s all there really is to it.
My favorite map was map04. I think that was the perfect difficulty for me. The final 3 maps were a bit too much for me to be casual about it.
I know a lot of people like this wad, but for me, I’d say it was just okay. I probably won’t be playing Stardate 20x7 if it’s anything like this. Actually, from what I’ve seen, 20x7 would probably be worse for me.
