How does camouflage impact survival in predator-prey interactions? In this AP Biology classroom simulation, we model a predator-prey relationship to explore how natural selection shapes adaptations in desert rodents. This hands-on activity is part of an AP Biology Storyline unit focused on the adaptations of rock pocket mice and kangaroo rats. Hey bio friends! I created this tutorial video showing a lab conducted to collect data to experimentally determine the density of water. The lab also serves as an introduction to using a micropipette.
In the lab, students use micropipettes to transfer water into a test tube in 200 μL (0.200 mL) increments. The mass of the water is measured after each transfer. A graduated test tube is also created in the lab that can be used for later experiments to quantify amounts of gas produced in biological reactions.
Here is a link to the video which shows how the data collected in this experiment can be analyzed in Google Sheets using linear regression.
