I actually didn't plan on making this video. I only had my GoPro with me, and I thought I'd just record a little bit to share with my Patreon supporters. But then looking at what I recorded, despite it being a bit rough- I thought it conveyed the excitement of that location well enough that I wanted to share it with wider audience in case I can inspire some people to visit!
To be clear- this hike is better done as part of a guided tour- an "Adventure Tourism" tour. The tour hasn't reached its finalized form yet, but when it does I'll post links here. Otherwise- if you're interested in being guided along this route, feel free to contact me via email or Instagram and I can connect you to to the appropriate parties.
But let me also share a bit of the location, so the bolder folk can visit individually if they so desire. Basically- take the train from Sapporo to Otaru, and then a bus from Otaru to Shukutsu Aquarium. Alternatively, you could take a cab.
