Happy holidays, everyone! With Dixie Kong's Double Trouble recently being released on the Switch's SNES Online app, it seems like a great time to chill out in the Northern Kremisphere.
This song was actually much simpler than I thought it would be going into it; it's fairly short and tends to repeat a lot of phrases. That said, these are very atmospheric tracks, so I think the instrumentation is what really makes it come alive. To that end, I've added some percussion to give it a little more of that classic Donkey Kong Country flavor.

Hey can you believe its been nearly a year to the day since the last time I posted an original on YouTube? Wild!
So this song was my attempt to utilize a groove beat in an original since I hadnt actually done that in quite some time. I originally wanted to create something with a much more sad, almost droning tone, but it kind of naturally evolved into something more lively (though still pretty somber). Kinda gave me the vibe of a rainy city at night, lit up by neon signs with almost no one on the streets. Very noir-ish.

Its been longer than Id like since the last video I made, but Ive got a new cover from Donkey Kong Land. Its the boss theme, but you may also recognize it from Blast Corps, as DKLs composer Graeme Norgate used a modified arrangement of this song in that game.
I tried to do my own thing with the percussion, keeping it in the spirit of the original but adding more variety for different sections of the song.
Shoutout to the Project+ devs for putting this song in the 2.0 build, its been stuck in my head ever since!
