The RKO opening titles to Let’s Stick Together (1952) reveals that this cartoon actually had the unusual ”Walt Disney Presents Donald Duck” text on the character card already in its original version. In the credits, animators Bill Justice and George Kreisl have switched places in the Buena Vista reissue. The original title card is different from the reissue; the three layers (background, Donald and Spike, text) are not aligned the same way, and while the same cel of Donald and Spike was reused in the reissue, much of the bold shading and gloss effects seen here (most noticeable on Donald’s face and hand) seem to have been literally scratched off the cel before refilming it. This was scanned from a UK 35mm Kodak print.
