The Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) in association with the National Domestic Workers’ Movement (NDWM) on June 13 observed International Domestic Workers’ Day at Assisi Hall, Lakeview Colony, Dimapur.
While the day is officially marked globally on the 16th of June every year, the event was held today (a public holiday) for the convenience of the domestic workers without having to miss their daily work obligations.
The occasion was observed under the theme “Together we move forward for Dignity, Recognition and Rights of Domestic Workers’, reflecting a collective commitment towards ensuring that every domestic worker is seen, heard and protected.
