Dolly Parton was laid to rest in a private family funeral in the days following her Aug. 25 death at the age of 80, just as she'd requested before her passing. Dolly’s niece, Lainey Mae Parton, confirmed the country music icon was buried beside her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, at Nashville’s Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum after he died in March 2025. Before her death, Parton’s nephew Brian Seaver shared that she wished to rest on a “beautiful bed of plush cotton” following a lifetime of wearing heavy rhinestones.
