Cadet LCDR Aeryn Pecha, a senior at Doherty High School, was presented with the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement on Wednesday, Sept. 2, during the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education meeting. The national recognition places Pecha in the top fraction of 1% of cadets across the country. The presentation marks the first time a student at Doherty High School has earned the award in the 25-year history of its Navy JROTC program.
