I’m incredibly proud to share a small moment from U&W’s “Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake” – Series 1, where I was filmed as part of my role working for Dogs Trust 🐶💙
I work as a Dog Welfare Assistant and Transfer Driver, and this footage captures me unloading dogs at Dogs Trust Basildon Rehoming Centre, where much of the filming for the series took place. During this episode, I had the amazing opportunity to meet Pete Wicks while the TV crew followed the dogs’ journey and the work we do behind the scenes.
The dogs featured were collected from a Northern Ireland collection point (local stray pound) before travelling by ferry to Cairnryan, Scotland, then spending the night at Dogs Trust Penrith Transfer Centre, where I’m based. The following day, they were safely transported down to Basildon to continue their journey towards finding loving forever homes.
This video isn’t my own — it simply shows a short section of the work I was involved in — but I’m so proud to have been part of such an important process. Seeing the dedication, teamwork, and care that goes into rescuing, transporting, and rehoming dogs is something I’ll always be passionate about.
I truly love my job, and I’m grateful to Dogs Trust for the work they do every single day to give dogs a second chance ❤️
