Industrial firewalls claim to have deep packet inspection for a variety of OT protocols. To verify that the protocol is in the proper format and not used to send attack code. And to allow filtering by function code, point, parameter or other useful features. Industrial firewalls can be an effective security control to limit control capabilities between zones ... if they do what they claim.
Tony has tested a variety of industrial firewalls and will provide his results, as well as future testing recommendations.
