At the 2004 Chicago Auto Show, Dodge unveiled it's boldest, baddest and fastest pickup truck ever — the Viper-powered Dodge Ram SRT-10. This Dodge Ram pickup truck was powered by an 8.3-liter V10 engine (based on the Viper's SRT-10 engine) that produced 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. The Dodge Ram SRT-10 was available in both regular cab and quad cab configurations, and it could be equipped with either a six-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The SRT-10 was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and had a top speed of 154 mph. It was also the first production pickup truck to be able to run the quarter-mile in under 14 seconds. The SRT-10 was a popular choice for drag racing, and it was often seen competing against other high-performance vehicles, such as the Ford Lightning and the Chevrolet Silverado SS.
#funfact - NASCAR driver Brendan Gaughan set a world record for the fastest production pickup truck when he drove a stock Ram SRT-10 on a two-lap, both-directions run at 154.587 mph in the Czech Republic's Automotodrom Brno.
