A project spanning around 8 weeks of my free time into creating a new Doctor Who intro taking all experience loaned from work to date.
The aim of this project was to further my skills in VFX (of which I am completely self-taught with around two years' experience), and create a new fan sequence for the new Doctor - Peter Capaldi.
When starting the project the identity of the new actor was still a secret, and I had no idea if we would find out within days, weeks or months, so I started the project and moved forward as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality for speed. Since the announcement nearly three weeks have passed, and I'm finally able to present the full sequence.
I have "remastered" the theme tune around the context of a timelord's twin heart beat using a fantastically edited underlying theme provided by Matt Rice:

You will find the theme to have been built upon the official theme tune with deeper 4-beat drum rhythm, as well as paying homage to some older versions of the theme tune with a modern twist.
Software used includes Lightwave 11.5, After Effects CS6, Hitvid, Photoshop and a few misc apps.

Copyright & Sharing
Doctor Who remains a trademark of the British Broadcasting Corporation. No original BBC visual material has been used, and no infringement is intended by this fan art. Doctor Who and the BBC are in no way affiliated with NeonVisual.com, Xandercom, Xander David-Hugh or my sponsors RANCH Computing. No profits have been made, and in fact this production project has incurred significant personal cost outlay in both time and money!
Please be aware that my visual artwork is enrolled in content ID. I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to GIVE AWAY any of my portfolio of work, or rights to it, and as such this means that anyone who ignores the on screen text requesting that my work is NOT RE-UPLOADED anywhere else, either on YouTube or otherwise would be issued a copyright takedown notice. I put many hundreds of hours and my own money into producing fan art such as this for the world to see at no cost to the viewer. The least you could do is not steal it, right? Fortunately I have many loyal supporters on YouTube and Facebook who are very quick to report back any content which the automated system might have missed. You can learn more about copyright and how it affects you by clicking the COPYRIGHT link at the bottom of every YouTube page. Youtube will only allow you two copyright strikes. On the third occasion they terminate the account.
You are of course (and it is encouraged) able to repost the link to this video, or embed this video on other websites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter etc. In fact, this is the only way my work gets passed around the world is by viewers sharing the link, so if you liked it why not help me by giving it a share?

Requests by fans and fan groups to produce custom intro sequences:
I do get many, but unfortunately can't provide free work, or give away the rights to my work. I encourage anyone with an interest in graphic design or VFX to develop their own skills. I am always happy to give advice based on my personal experiences of working with 3D software.
