A common reason people are reluctant to return to Mass after years away has to do with pride and shame. Will I be judged when I come back? Do I need to get my life in order before I step into a building full of "church people?" Will God and everyone else see what a mess I am and reject me?
When Ken Geraci finally went back to Confession as a young man, he was so far away from his faith that he didn't even know how to pray the Our Father.
He expected to be reprimanded for the things he confessed; but what he found instead was mercy, peace, and love. Now, as a priest with the Fathers of Mercy, he hopes to share that message of reconciliation with others.
