While in Europe, my DJI Spark drone became completely unresponsive and fell into a canal. Luckily, I had DJI Care Refresh insurance! Oh, wait, nevermind. The insurance requires you to send the drone back to them in order to get a replacement. How often are people actually able to retrieve a non-responsive drone? Maybe 50% of the time, at best?
Even after DJI examined the full flight logs and final video retrieved from the iPad controller and admitted that it went into "opti" mode and became non-responsive, they wouldn't replace the drone.
I firmly believe that the DJI Spark should NOT be marketed as a consumer-level drone, as seen in the promotional shots I've included in this video. The lack of functional safeguards make it unsuitable for untrained pilots, and I'm surprised more people haven't reported injury or property destruction from Spark crashes.
I also firmly believe that DJI Care Refresh is a total scam, or at the very least is false advertising.
As a result, I absolutely cannot recommend that anyone buy a drone from DJI, especially the Spark.
