I’ve got two bourbons, both 107 proof and made by Buffalo Trace. One is Pappy Van Winkle 15-Year, which can cost a few thousand dollars, and the other is Weller Antique 107 for under $200. They share the same mash bill, so the only real difference is how long they’ve aged. It reminds me of the window film world, where only a few companies supply the materials but many brands slap their labels on them. If you look beyond the marketing, you can often get the same product at a better price and keep more money in your pocket.
