DMOS Pro Shovel Tools | DMOS Shovel vs. a Boulder @DMOSproshoveltools | Uploaded April 2021 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Using a shovel as a striking tool is outside of the design parameters of a DMOS shovel. That said, it took several strikes to intentionally bend the tip of the Delta Steel. Not shown in this video, DMOS Tool Pro, Bill Pierce, also used a Rogue Hoe, with a forged steel blade which is stronger than our cold rolled steel blade, and it bent and chipped the blade.
Bill demonstrated that the shovel can take multiple boulder strikes without any deformation. At that point, it should go without saying that if you were digging, you'd move the blade over to move dirt, or get another tool like a backhoe to move that rock.
