So i saw that the DLSS5 files leaked and modders are testing it out in games. This is not official at all, so I assume some tech/performance is not finalized.
While this does produce horrors on human faces, I find that the environmental lighting and detail looks great. However this comes with 2 caveats.
1. Performance tanks hard. Most people report about a 1/2 frame drop, which I can confirm in Remnant 2 as well, getting 150 FPS without DLSS5 and only 85ish with. There is also some stuttering/flickering mostly in cutscenes, but i'll chalk that up to it being brute-forced through reshade.
2. While environments do look better, they still have that eerie fakeness about them that you see in almost all AI work, and its pretty obvious. Not sure if that will be reduced, if it can, without making this entire thing obsolete to begin with.
I'm running this on an RTX4080 fwiw
